We have changed the way we book our appointments in response to the latest Government guidance on COVID-19. All patients who request any type of appointment will first be telephoned by a clinician.

We are now using Chain SMS to message patients!
Chain SMS is...
A system which allows us to easily send text messages to patients. It means we can be much more proactive about some communications, messaging you quickly and securely, so you are not waiting around to hear from us!
Some examples of how we might use it...
Reminders or notifications (e.g. prescription ready) Responding to simple queries (e.g. if you had a quick question about your medication) Letting you know we tried to call Sending you advice at the end of a consultation
The practice name will always be at the bottom of the message. You won't be able to reply them. Please help us to help you
by keeping your number up to date. If you don't want us to contact you in this way please let us know.
We now have the following new once-weekly services available:
- Early Phlebotomy Clinic - A once-weekly early Phlebotomy clinic at 7 am
- GP Telephone Appointments - Between 7 am and 8 am we have once-weekly telephone appointments available with a GP

Ear Syringing at Prospect House Surgery will no longer be available from 1st April 2019
Regrettably due to the increased demands on our service we are no longer able to offer an ear syringing service. We have continued to offer this service for as long as we could without receiving any funding to do so but unfortunately we have had to come to the difficult decision to prioritise the services for which we are contracted by NHS England. This procedure is not included in our GMS contract. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we are sure you will appreciate that we need appointments for things that are specified within the 'core contract of services that we have to provide'.

From February 1st all requests for an on the day “urgent” appointment will be managed by a system called telephone triage.
If you need an urgent “on the day” appointment please call the surgery at 8:30 am for the morning clinic, or 2pm for the afternoon clinic, the receptionist will ask you for a contact telephone number and the clinician will call you back within the hour to assess your condition. When only advice is required, it will be given by the clinician over the telephone. After assessment, if the clinician thinks that you need an appointment it will be booked for you. The aim of this system it to get advice and treatment for our patients as quickly as possible. Routine appointments are still available to be pre-booked in the normal way. Please also be aware we run one Saturday clinic a month, details can be obtained from reception.

Patient Participation Groups (PPG’s) are about involving patients in deciding what services are provided by the surgery and how the surgery can be improved - listening to their views before deciding a course of action.
